Baldur's Gate II: EE App Reviews

This is honestly one of my top 3 games of all time. Love having a port of it here.

I wanted to write a review, something Ive not done on an app before, b/c this was a pretty incredible game. The overall plot was a bit much for me, but the side-quests, variety and interaction amongst characters was enjoyable..like acting out a novel.

This is ridiculous, I got though one quest and my HUD went away and you cannot get it back so you can no longer play the game. There is no fix for this on IOS

This throws me back to the pc version of the game! It fits perfectly on the iPhone 6+ and my son bought it for his iPhone 5. He did figure out the problem with the side bar going away and not returning. All he does is a quick save all the time and regular save. That way if he does hit the side bar problem he can load his quick save and the problem has been solved!

Favorite game and an excellent port.

I have sunk many hours into this game already on my iPad mini retina. The story and gameplay are amazing. It has a bit of a learning curve for people new to the series but well worth the time to learn the UI. Many complain about the bugs and crashes but I havent had any problems. I think theyve been mostly fixed with the last update. The only time the game has ever crashed for me is if I click on boo while on the inventory screen.

Really happy I bought it.

If you tap on Boo in Minscs inventory screen, the game crashes and returns you to the home screen. Fix this please :).

Thank you for bringing this treasure to iPad, like a dream come true! I wish hover mouse tips worked when you hold your finger down on an item but besides that this port is awesome!

This is by far the best game ever made, each character has there own personality and unique dialogue, but if you just want to play the game playing solo is fun and a great challenge. The only thing that I can think of that can be better is earlier bag of holding playing solo is so hard without one. Ps the daystar weapon is in the city gates tavern behind a hidden door.

At least two major bugs that totally block access to significant parts of the game content and story. Great PC game, play it there and dont pay for this crippled version.

Excellent writing, with tactical gameplay that holds up well. Unfortunately, the interface does not work well with a touch screen, so finding out what each of your 20+ spells does is a chore, and ordering your characters around for complex maneuvers takes ages. Probably much easier to use on PC.

Viconia is glitched (she keeps resetting her movement and actions), and Anomen thinks I am a woman. Other than that and a few minor other glitches, it is still a good game.

Great game, but I cant transfer my save data or custom portraits from my Mac edition of BG2:ee to iPhone. Devs: please allow iTunes file sharing so that the app data can be accessed. iCloud drive backup support would be nice, too. Interface buttons (on the screen edges) are also just a little bit too small (even on 6S plus). Would appreciate ability to adjust scaling of interface elements. Otherwise, great port!

If I could give negative stars I would. The AI is poop. The interface is even worse. You open a chest and some times stand there for 5 mins trying to get the dang loot. Horrible interface. For 10$ I expected far better. Dont waste your time here. Buy a laptop and play on that

Why does it crash when I click on Boo? If I cant hear the squeals of my trusty hamster companion, how can I continue to fight evil???

I wish I had read the comments other than what a great game this is. The UI is un useable. There is no guidance any where. I like learning, but this learning curve is too steep. I cant get my money back, but I can delete the game, and hope others see this comment.

I have not managed to play through fully once without encountering at least one bug that totally blocks a quest for me. There’s a bug when doing Rasaad’s storyline where Viconia will no longer function and cancels every command after a couple seconds. There’s another in Watcher’s Keep where the ritual for reaching the second level will not respond, blocking the remainder of the quest line.

After giving up, read about the 3 finger zoom to correct sidebar issues, duh lol thanks guys,
