Bravo

My favorite game as a teen makes a comeback all in one place. Thank you!

Broken

First star is for the effort of porting. Lack of rest of stars are for game breaking bugs in all of the new character content, and existing bugs still being present for the original game. Dont bother unless youre willing to transfer saves to a desktop in order to tediously attempt to apply fixes over and over again.

Frustrating bugs

Fun game that stands the test of time. Its what I expected with re to using on the iPhone with a small screen making it hard to select spells etc... What I didnt expect were numerous crashes. Your thief trap hit more than 1 enemy, crash. Your character loses their toolbar and you cant even move them? Tough luck. You queue up multiple damage air spells in a sequencer? Nope!!! crash. If the devs did a little bug fixing, this would be fantastic, unfortunately it doesnt look like they will. They milked it and moved on a while ago.

Belongs to PC

Terrible port.

Worth the money

Amazing they can put a game of this scope on a mobile device. Ive played neverwinter nights on pc, this game draws you in so much more, and on an first gen ipad mini instead of a 17 inch screen. A few minor hiccups, screen freeze here and there, just make sure to save often, close the app and restart. There is so much online info on this game any question you will have is right there. If youre into detailed oriented RPGs this is a must buy.I retract ed my last statement my issues with the game were caused by my not understanding the game mechanics and nt the game itself, other than a few issues (the circus tent) this has played smooth, I agree with the others who say this might be the best video game ever made.

Great port

Loved it.

Really fun to play. Hours of gameplay.

The game can bug out. What game wont? Just make save games often and make more than one save copy once in a while. I just use autosave and it will autosave a new char over an old char. I love the option to build my own party of adventurers through the multiplayer option. It is easy, go to multiplayer, click Create Game. Make a session name, ignore making a pw. Then Either make a new game or load a previous multiplayer save file. You will end up at the "character arbitration" page. Click on create character and do your thing. I love clicking hundreds of times on the stats reroll until I hit the 96+ lol! You might want to leave one character spot open for NPCs. You get a lot of experience from their NPC quests. Once you make your characters click the checkmarks for each character. And finally click done. There are a lot of great guides online for this game. The interface is overwhelming especially mage or cleric spell lists but it is worth getting used to. Happy rolling those dice!

Sidebars

I love the game. Played on PC. But if you dont fix these sidebar glitches for iPhones then your wasting our money and killing our hopes of playing this great game. Oh and I crashed whole trying to unlock jahiera cage.

Just plain awesome

Totally worth the money, I loved this game on PC and I love it all over again on my iPad! Great work!

Overhaul Games FTW

I played BG2 on PC years ago and remains one of my all time favorite games. Im glad Overhaul put it on mobile! Perfect game for mobile! TBH i would rather have paid $10/game (SoA, ToB) and had better graphics, but BG2 games arent all about graphics anyway. Im playing on my ipad 2 (very old), and I havent had any problems with it. Saves and loads are instant. Best $10 Ive spent on app store!

Stupid

The easiest setting is still absurdly hard for an avid gamer, cant even get past the first castle before 15 thrives attack two of you

Update badly needed

I LOVE this game, and play it whenever I get the chance, but an update is badly needed. The quests have gotten so buggy that its ridiculous - some of them just keep repeating themselves over and over. The ranger stronghold is so bugged that unless you camp in the Umar Hills until all 3 quests are done, you lose your stronghold. PLEASE fix this!!

Awesome!

Better than I remembered when I played it in 1998 as a kid! Wow they did a great job putting this on iOS. The touchscreen actually works pretty well! Only thing I would love for them to do is make it work on iCloud drive so I could use my iPad and iPhone without having to restart a new campaign. Way to go guys!

Constant issues

This game has constant issues. Cant get out of the beginning area because the menus lock. Really regret tainting my memory of this excellent game with this pos. DO NOT BUY

Crashes far too often.

I absolutely love the game itself, loved it way back when on the PC as well. However, this version crashes on my iPad Pro just way too often. I lost hours of gameplay relying on the quick save feature, which has really curtailed my experience with the game. Make sure you perform a hard save every so often to avoid this. Otherwise, its Baldurs gate. Still one of the best RPGs ever made.

Unable to Export Saves

I bought this iOS version of Baldurs Gate so that I could import saves from the PC version to iPad, take them on the road, and then move them back to PC when I returned. This functionality exists in Baldurs Gate I, but not in BGII for some unknown reason. So if the ability to transfer saves is important to you, be forewarned that the current version cant do that.

Love it

Being able to play my favorite rpg of all time on my iPhone 5s. Worth every penny, almost exactly the same as the original bg2. Dont have much time to sit at home and play on pc so having it on my phone is perfect I have nothing negative to say about this app so far. What I love about this game is you can spend hours just organizing and equipping your party members in the inventory and equipping spells and not be bored doing it. Decisions that actually change the direction of the game. Who you choose to have in your party could lead to a completely different path than having a different one. This game is beyond epic it makes games like ff7 and the elder scrolls look like childs play. This is not a game for casual rpg fans you actually have to pay attention and manually take notes for a few side quests in the journal to finish them. If your looking for a game that holds your hand and powders your butt then this is not the game for you.
